New Phones from Sony and HTC to feature Android as OS
HTC, the first to-market with Google’s Android Operating System, is slating a new slew of devices featuring the Android OS by summer of 2009. Also, 14 other cellphone makers have jumped on board to offer the Android OS including Sony. Sony plans on offering the OS in its higher-end cellphones by the summer of 2009, and release it to lower end mass market phones by the end of 2009.
After HTC’s aquisition of cell phone designer One & One, we expect there to be a lot more sleepker Android powered cellphones from HTC in the future.

New Android G1 Phone Available Unlocked
You can now get a HTC Dream G1 phone unlocked for no more than a regular non-contract phone from a regular carrier. This is great for developers of apps of this phone, or if you want the new HTC Dream wuithout a big contract. The best part is that it comes factory unlocked, which will allow you to use it with any GSM provider that you want to.
This is what is being called a developer version of the phone, however, any HTC enthusiast can get their hands on it for $399. That’s te best part of unlocked phones, picking your carrier and not being tied to one company’s preset configurations.
